A room at Royal Inland Hospital will be named in honour of Kamloops Ford Lincoln, which committed $60,000 to support renovations to the hospital’s current pediatric department.

In a news release, Heidi Coleman, Royal Inland Hospital Foundation’s CEO, said the foundation is “deeply grateful” for its ongoing relationship with Kamloops Ford Lincoln.

“This $60,000 gift will help us enhance pediatric care at RIH and exemplifies Kamloops Ford Lincoln’s commitment to the health and wellbeing of children in our region,” Coleman said.

A statement from the foundation said as the new Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Tower is now complete and open to the public, the hospital looks forward to modernizing other areas of the hospital.

This includes plans for a new Ronald McDonald Family Room and preparations to renovate the current pediatric department.

“Kamloops Ford Lincoln’s generous contribution is pivotal in helping the foundation ensure that the unit has the innovative technology, equipment and infrastructure in place to ensure the specialized staff can deliver world-class comfort and care to every child in need,” the statement said.

The foundation said it has received a cumulative total of $159,300 through Kamloops Ford Lincoln’s Pay It Forward program, in which $100 from the sale of every vehicle is donated to charity.

Craig Brown, general manager for Kamloops Ford Lincoln, said the company wants to help enrich lives of families and children in the community.

“We are all affected by the staff and services of Royal Inland Hospital. You do not have to look very far to find someone where the treatment at RIH made a difference to their life or that of a family member,” Brown said.
