Re. Massive elm tree poisoned (Castanet, Aug. 4)
I’m no (1970s TV detective) Columbo or Sherlock Holmes, but I would be looking at the property owners surrounding the poisoned elm tree on Manhattan Drive.
I have never heard of anyone killing and poisoning a tree for fun or senseless vandalism. I wonder who's view was impeded by the beautiful tree?
Perhaps someone needed more parking. It's a lot cheaper and easier to buy a bucket of Tordon tree killer (I Googled it), than it is to go through the hassle of requesting and paying for a trees removal.
I'm sure that was the police’s and city’s first thought as well.
I hope the person who did it is held responsible. An act of selfishness, that is what it was.
