There’s a new person in charge of food and beverages at Big White Ski Resort.
Renowned Canadian chef Shelley Robinson has been named the new director, food and beverage operations at Big White Ski Resort for Compass Group Canada.
“I am extremely thrilled to be leading the Food and Beverage team at Big White Ski Resort,” said Robinson. “I look forward to bringing our passion for hospitality and on-resort experience to a new level for Big White guests.”
Robinson studied at the Dubrelle French Culinary Academy and Vancouver Community College, and has co-authored four cookbooks, owned and operated two restaurants, a café and an artisanal grocery store. Robinson may look familiar to fans of ‘Top Chef Canada’ and ‘Chopped Canada.’
Robinson won the Food Network’s ‘Chopped Canada’ in 2014, and also competed on ‘Top Chef Canada’ in 2014 as well.
Their role at the resort will focus on streamlining and enhancing the resort guest experience – from assisting with menu development to front-of-house operations.
“Having a culinary leader like Shelley heading up our Food and Beverage team will add a new level of passion and professionalism throughout the business unit that will have an immediate impact for our resort guests,” said Trevor Hanna, Vice President of Hospitality, Big White Ski Resort Ltd. “Shelley will be heavily involved in the exciting new developments and evolution of foodservice at Big White.”
Robinson has been active in the Okanagan community, serving as a volunteer with the Bridge Youth and Family services society and is a regular participant and contributor in the Central Okanagan food bank ‘bake the world a better place’ fundraiser.
