Warrant out for Kamloops robber who no-showed for sentencing

Warrant issued for robber

A warrant has been issued for a Kamloops man who failed to show up to court for sentencing on robbery charges.

Ronald Anthony Kuz pleaded guilty to one count each of robbery and using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence.

Kuz was arrested following an Oct. 22 robbery in a retail store in the 200-block of Victoria Street. At the time, police said they were called to a report of a robbery in which a man brandished what appeared to be a firearm.

The 69-year-old, who is free on bail, pleaded guilty in March and underwent a pre-sentence psychiatric assessment. He was supposed to be sentenced in Kamloops provincial court on Thursday, but he was a no-show.

Details of the robbery will be made public when Kuz is sentenced.
