The Boogie Bash will return to Rock Creek July 29 to Aug. 1

Boogie Bash is back

The Boogie Bash is back.

The popular three-day motorcycle party will take place at the Rock Creek Fairgrounds July 29 to Aug. 1.

Like so many other events, the Boogie Bash was put on hold for the last two years because of COVID concerns, but it is back to 2022 with live bands, bikes, games and more.

The Boogie Bash is a fundraiser for the Society for Injured Riders (SIR), a not-for-profit society staffed solely by volunteers.

Monica Bruns, with SIR, said the group is committed to assisting riders and their families who have been injured and impacted by a motorcycle accident.

“Motorcycle accidents can be pretty catastrophic. The injuries can be pretty severe and they effect the rider quite significantly,” said Bruns, adding SIR provides some financial support along with emotional support. “It's someone to talk to.”

The SIR holds a number of events throughout the year to raise funds, as well as funds raised through memberships. One does not have to be a rider, to be a member in order to support the society.

Bruns said it has been challenging to raise funds over the past two years because of COVID restrictions.

“We have been contacted by multiple injured riders already this riding season for support. In an effort to raise funds we are hosting a 50/50 draw with the winner having a chance to take home $10,000 if all tickets are sold – this would provide substantial funds for the society to support injured riders and give the sole winner some extra cash for their summer holidays,” she said.

The draw will be held July 21.

Bruns said the Boogie Bash is the biggest fundraiser of the year.

The adult-only event features bike games such as who can ride their motorycle the slowest with the last one across the line declared the winner as well as a show ’n' shine, burn out pit, poker run, tattoo contest, vendors, several live bands, beverage gardens and more.

Bruns said those who want, can arrive a couple days early to get in some camping before the party begins.
