Large youth party at McArthur Island leaves one assaulted, police say

Youth party turns violent

Police are investigating a large party at McArthur Island after it turned violent last weekend.

Mounties said they responded to McArthur Island on Saturday, May 21 around 10:20 p.m. after receiving multiple calls reporting a group of about 80 to 100 youth partying and fighting.

According to police, many of the youth scattered once officers arrived.

One youth was located with minor injuries who was reportedly struck by several people. Police said they are also investigating the uttering of threats related to the same event.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed or has video footage of the incident to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
