Chamber Music Kelowna to host fundraising concert for homelessness

Fundraiser for homelessness

Chamber Music Kelowna and Metro Community are teaming up on the Concern in the Community series to raise money to support those experiencing homelessness.

Metro Community has been involved in Kelowna’s downtown now for 14 years, serving people experiencing profound material poverty, including homelessness. Running a five-day-a-week drop-in, Metro also has hygiene services which includes laundry, showers, breakfast, lunch and day storage.

Series organizer and Chamber Music Kelowna board member Andrew Stauffer says they are delighted to partner with Metro Community for this concert.

“With this event, we are excited to bring beautiful music to the Kelowna community in an accessible way, while working to support the work that Metro does for those in our community who are currently experiencing homelessness,” said Stauffer. This concert is one of the main highlights of Chamber Music Kelowna’s community concert series.”

The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 3 in Metro’s venue, The Hub, located at 1265 Ellis Street.

Tickets are $15 with all proceeds going towards helping the homeless in Kelowna.
