$300,000 in stolen property

A police search of three properties in Lake Country and Penticton has turned up an estimated $300,000 in stolen property.

Police conducted the searches in mid-January after officers investigating thefts of heavy equipment throughout the Southeast District.

Among the stolen property they found was a CAT skid steer, nine trailers, including utility and travel trailers, a utility task vehicle and various tools.

Police also seized 18 firearms and a crossbow.

The RCMP is recommending prosecutors lay several charges against a 28-year old man from Lake Country, including Theft of Motor Vehicles, Break and Enter Committing Theft over $5000.00, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Driving While Prohibited.
