Sustainable Environment Network Society looking for people to help with carnival parade

SENS seeks volunteers

Volunteers are being sought to help with an electrifying entry into the Vernon Winter Carnival parade.

The Sustainable Environment Network Society and the BC Sustainable Energy Association are teaming up to show off electric cars at the annual event.

Climate change activist and SENS director Terry Dyck is spearheading the parade entry and is in need of volunteers to walk in front the vehicles with the banners that explain what the cars are all about.

It is an electric car demonstration, but promotes the environment as well.

Volunteers are also needed to show their support for sustainable and/or alternative transportation, with people walking, bicycling and even riding e-bikes if the weather permits.

The parade will be held Feb. 5 starting at noon in the downtown core, but volunteers are being asked to meet at 11 a.m. at the 27th Street starting point.

For more information, email Dyck at [email protected].
