200,000 rapid antigen test kits are being distributed to BC schools this week.
The Ministry of Education said the test kits are going out to kindergarten-to-Grade 12 (K-12) sector for use by staff, including teachers and administrators with symptoms of COVID-19.
The kits are come from Artron Laboratories Inc., a Burnaby-based company. They are on top of the supplies given to health authorities to be used to investigate clusters and outbreaks in schools.
How many go to each school division depends on the number of teaching and non-teaching staff in the division.
The Ministry of Health and the Office of the Public Health Officer continue to direct where rapid tests should be distributed, including if additional tests will be deployed for use in the K-12 sector.
