Trans-Canada Highway reopened east of Revelstoke Thursday

The Trans-Canada Highway has been fully reopened east of Revelstoke following Thursday morning's crash.

ORIGINAL: 11:50 a.m.

A vehicle crash has closed the Trans-Canada Highway east of Revelstoke Thursday morning.

A 9.4 kilometre section of the highway is closed in both directions between the Albert Canyon Chain Up Area and Illecillewaet Brake Check.

The crash occurred sometime before 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Webcam footage from the area shows snowy conditions on the high-mountain pass, and up to 15 cm of snow is forecast to fall in the area throughout the day.

DriveBC warns of delays along the route, but it's not clear how long the highway will be closed for. DriveBC will provide its next update on the closure at 1 p.m.
