Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen to offer health and recovery support at resiliency centre in Similkameen Valley

The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen's Emergency Operations Centre continues to focus on resources to help flood-affected communities recover from devastating floods this fall.

A resiliency centre will be open Thursday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tulameen Community Centre for anyone in that rural community and surrounding areas to access services.

On Thursday, health support will be available via a nurse practitioner and a psychosocial professor.

On Sunday, recovery support through lessons and tips to assist with property remediation.

Permanent residents who are unable to return home due to flooding damage may continue to be supported by Emergency Support Services program online here or at 250-486-1890.

RDOS residents are also reminded that CivicReady, the previous disaster alert system the district used, is no longer operational. The RDOS has transitioned to Voyent Alert! which can be found here.
