$20K in stolen goods found

Approximately $20,000 worth of stolen goods was found in a bust last month at a Valleyview motel, police say.

On the morning of Nov. 25, Mounties responded to an overnight break-in at a business on the 2000-block of the East Trans Canada Highway.

According to the RCMP, officers identified a suspect from security footage at the scene.

“Investigators tracked the suspect to a motel on the 1900-block of the East Trans Canada Highway,” said Cst. Crystal Evelyn of the Kamloops RCMP.

“When the suspect answered the door for police, the officers observed several dirtbikes inside, including one they recognized to be stolen.”

Mounties arrested the suspect, searched the room and found the stolen goods, police said.

The suspect was released with a court date. The investigation is ongoing, anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
