36 Penticton, Kelowna and South Okanagan businesses team up 'Fill the Truck for Princeton'

36 businesses team up

In times of great devastation, neighbouring businesses throughout the Okanagan Valley are hoping to continue to help those affected in Princeton.

Local companies in Kelowna, Penticton and the South Okanagan are working to collect donation items for the hundreds of homes and residents displaced due to the massive floods.

Neighbourhood Brewing shared that they have arranged for a delivery truck to head to Princeton on Dec. 8 and again on Dec. 22, bringing all the collected items to those in need.

"Let’s lend a helping hand and help 'Fill the Truck For Princeton.'"

Most in need items include bottled water (large jugs 18L really needed) N95 masks, new toys for kids, bed in a bag sets, dehumidifiers, gift cards and cash and frozen turkeys with holidays fixings.

Ready to eat food items such a canned soups, pasta and sauce, and oatmeal, along with personal hygiene products, diapers, pet food and supplies are also a welcome donation.

Clothing, bedding and towels are needed, with new items requested for socks, underwear and pillows. Slightly used are accepted for warm clothes and outerwear, along with any boots.

Donations can be dropped off at Neighbourhood Brewing or any of the attached supporters locations in the picture below during business hours.

While the imminent threat of danger has passed for the Similkameen Valley, there is a long road ahead of repair for those whose homes were lost.

Princeton's Mayor Spencer Coyne previously shared that cash donations are truly needed to help the community, as many have lost everything.

The Community Foundation of South Okanagan has set up a fund in partnership with the Town of Princeton, with all money raised going directly to citizens needing emergency relief from the historic floods that swept town in mid-November.
