West Kelowna Fire Department hosting annual food drive

Firefighters seek donations

Firefighters in West Kelowna are asking for the community's help in their 24th annual Holiday Food Drive in support of the Central Okanagan Food Bank.

Fire crews and staff will be going door to door in the Greater Westside area from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7 and Wednesday, December 8 to collect non-perishable food items.

They will also be following all COVID protocols in place, and will keep a safe distance when greeted. The firefighters request you place your donations on the doorstep for them to safely collect.

However, firefighters won’t be able to make it to every neighbourhood throughout West Kelowna, so if they don’t make it to your home, they ask that you bring a non-perishable food item to one of the collection bins outside the four fire halls until December 15.

Donations can be dropped off at 3651 Old Okanagan Highway, 2708 Olalla Road, 1805 Westlake Road, or 3399 Gates Road.

West Kelowna Fire Rescue wants to thank residents in advance for their support of the food drive, which ensures no one goes hungry this holiday season.
