Search for crashed driver

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue was called out Wednesday night to search for a driver who walked away from a crash.

COSAR says the man was driving north on Glenmore Road when he lost control and rolled his vehicle into an orchard.

By the time emergency services arrived, he was gone.

“After a search of the immediate area by police and fire crews, COSAR was called out just before midnight to assist in locating the male, as it was believed he may have suffered a serious injury,” COSAR said in a news release.

Eleven search volunteers, including the dog team, attended and searched the surrounding area. The dog team was able to follow the male's tracks as he headed towards his residence. He was eventually located there.

This was COSAR’s 98th call out of the year.
