Woman and dog stabbed at Vancouver SkyTrain station

Woman and dog stabbed

A woman and her dog were stabbed with a knife near Vancouver's Marine Drive Canada Line station and a teenaged boy may face charges.

On Friday, just after 10 p.m., Vancouver Police were called to the station after the teen suspect allegedly pulled a knife on the woman, "stabbing her in the hand and then stabbing the dog," the VPD says in a news release.

“When our officers arrived, they found the victim and the dog bleeding heavily. The suspect was walking near the crime scene,” says Sgt. Steve Addison.

“The suspect was arrested and taken to jail, while the victim and dog received first aid for their injuries.”

The 32-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment. Her dog, described as a medium-sized mixed-breed was taken to an emergency veterinarian.

Both are expected to make full recoveries.

The 14-year-old suspect has been released from custody pending a future court date.
