Higher than expected temperatures delay opening of Stuart Park ice rink

Delay in rink opening

The City of Kelowna has pushed back the opening of the Stuart Park ice rink by two days.

Originally slated to open Dec. 1, the city now says due to unseasonably warm temperatures, the opening has been pushed back to Friday, Dec. 3.

The rink will open to skaters at 10 a.m.

The rink will be open for the season from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday. It will open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays.

A still-image live cam is set up at the rink so residents can check ice and crowd conditions or see if the rink is closed for weather related maintenance before they head down to the rink.
