Re.: Southern Africa visitor ban (Castanet, Nov 26)
Restricting flights from South Africa in response to the omicron variant is all well and good but we should be paying attention and emulating Israels total lockdown if we wish to protect our population.
We have been too optimistic time and time again and bowing to economic greed and demand.
Of major concern is the U.S. and its decision not to take any action at all, whilst our border is now more vulnerable than ever.
Tough decisions need to be made and unpopular measures implemented.
