RCMP promise doubted

Re.: RCMP promise to do better (Castanet, Nov. 24)

So, the RCMP has promised to do a better job of investigating sexual assault complaints. Why, oh why, would anybody with half a brain believe that promise?

How many times has some starry-eyed (RCMP) spokesperson promised something on behalf of that dysfunctional collection of blinkered misfits, whose old-boy mindset of presumed privilege continues daily, to imperil the safety and sanity of the population it purports to serve?

I, for one, don't buy it. Words are easy, especially for the designated spokesperson. Let's hear some raw, real answers from the gun-toting, badge-sporting, boot-shod, black glove-wearing, uniform-clad (police) who drive around in taxpayer funded vehicles, burning taxpayer funded gasoline while they do as they damn well please.

I have heard more than 50 years of promises from the RCMP and attach the same credence to this one as to the rest—zero.

Surrey has the right idea, a new police force is needed. The current one has outlived its effectiveness.
