Outbreak continues to grow

The COVID-19 outbreak at Kamloops’ Overlander long term care facility continues to grow, with 18 people now testing positive for the virus — an increase of four cases since Monday.

According to Interior Health, as of Tuesday evening, 13 residents and five staff members have contracted COVID-19.

Also on Tuesday, the health authority said they have declared a new outbreak at Royal Inland Hospital, with two patients testing positive for COVID-19.

An outbreak at Kamloops Seniors Village is holding steady at 19 cases, with the health authority reporting that 10 residents and nine staff members have tested positive for the virus.

There has been one death associated with this outbreak.

Data from IH shows no new growth for the outbreak at the Hamlets at Westsyde long term care facility. There have been six cases identified, impacting three residents and three staff members.
