Police in Trail searching for suspect in mask dispute

Suspect sought in mask fight

Police in the Kootenays are investigating an anti-mask dispute earlier this month.

RCMP in Trail were called about a 30-year-old Abbotsford man who was not wearing a face covering after entering a public facility in the 1800 block of Columbia Avenue, just before 11 a.m.

The man allegedly refused to put on a mask, swore at employees, and then used the bathroom.

Trail and Greater District RCMP launched an investigation into the incident and have since identified the man.

Trail RCMP are asking the public to be on the lookout for a gold-coloured Honda Civic with BC licence plate: GV0141P. If you spot the vehicle you are asked not to approach it and call the Trail detachment at 250-364-2566.
