Police investigating after passerby finds what could be human remains

Skull found could be human

An investigation is now underway after remains, believed to be human have been found in a wooded area in Surrey, B.C.

CTV News Vancouver is reporting that police are investigating after what is believed to be a human skull was found in the 8000 block of 148A Street around 5 p.m. on Monday, September 20.

"Police are in the area canvassing and conducting an in-depth search of the surrounding area," Surrey RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.

Neighbours told CTV News a human skull was found but that has not yet been confirmed.

The BC Coroners Service is working with investigators to identify the remains.
