Fernando's Pub in Kelowna closing permanently

Fernando's closing for good

A staple of downtown Kelowna’s nightlife, Fernando’s Pub, is closing its doors for good.

The bar just reopened in May after a seven-month closure due to the pandemic.

“The time has come once again for us to close our doors — except this time we won’t be coming back,” Fernando’s said in a statement posted to Facebook. “It’s been 10 glorious years, well at least 8.5 of them were pretty f***ing awesome.”

“It’s been a good home for more than a decade now - but it’s merely a room and it’s always been your being here that gave it it’s heartbeat,” the statement continued.

The pub said things have “been a little challenging for some time now,” but did not want to elaborate.

“What remains is a few weeks more where we hopefully get to see you again. See your faces, say ‘so long’ and thank you for being so supportive.”

Fernando’s will close at the end of September.
