Cal Foote is staying put.
The restricted free-agent inked a new two-year contract with the reigning Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning Thursday.
The $1.7 million deal carries with it an annual average value of $850,000.
It's a one-way contract, meaning Foote will be paid the full amount of the contract whether he sticks with the NHL club, or is sent down to the American Hockey League.
Foote, a former Kelowna Rockets captain, played 35 games during his rookie 2020-2021 season, scoring once and adding a pair of assists.
He didn't see any action during Tampa's playoff run.
