The abbreviated eight game, BCFC season will begin the weekend of August 28

Sun start season at home

The Okanagan Sun will kickoff its 40th season in the BC Junior Football Conference Saturday, Aug. 28.

The league's oldest running franchise will open an abbreviated eight-game regular season at the Apple Bowl against the Kamloops Broncos.

The schedule includes home dates against Westshore Rebels (Sept. 11), Langley Rams (Sept. 18) and VI Raiders (Oct. 16).

They also play road games in Chiliwack, Nanaimo, Kamloops and Langley.

The regular season, which includes two bye weeks in October, concludes Oct. 30.

These will be the first games played since the Cullen Bowl in 2019.

The league was cancelled in 2020, as were all sports, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Training camp is expected to begin in early August.

The Sun are expecting to have fans back in the stands at the Apple Bowl this season.

More details on ticket availability will be made soon.
