Osoyoos firefighters thank community for their support and donations

Firefighters say thank you

The Osoyoos Fire department sent out a big thank you to the community on Wednesday, after receiving a generous amount of donations for their work battling the Nk'Mip Creek wildfire.

"The overwhelming response from everyone has been greatly appreciated by the members of our department and other organizations and we are thankful for your support," their social media post reads.

At this time, the volunteer fire department does not require any further donations of food and beverages.

Posts circulating social media have shown how much community members and local businesses have donated, with full flats of water and gatorade, a long with plenty of food.

"On behalf of the Osoyoos Fire Rescue and other organizations, we would like to thank the community of Osoyoos and everyone who has taken the time to offer their support, services and have provided a donation. We are extremely grateful to work for and be a part of this community."

The Town of Osoyoos and Osoyoos Rural Fire Protection District is served by a volunteer "on call" Fire Department of 30 trained members.
