Arrow star Stephen Amell has cleared up reports suggesting he was kicked off a flight from Austin, Texas, following a fight with his wife, insisting he was not "forcibly removed."
The actor hit headlines on Wednesday amid claims he had been yelling at his wife, Cassandra Jean, prior to take off on Monday.
According to the New York Post's Page Six, Amell apparently ignored a Delta flight attendant's request to calm down, and ended up being escorted off the Los Angeles-bound aircraft by other staffmembers, including an air marshal.
In a statement detailing the incident, Delta officials explained, "Delta flight 966 on June 21 took a brief, eight minute departure delay after an unruly customer was deplaned from the aircraft prior to departure in Austin.
"The flight arrived ahead of schedule at Los Angeles International Airport."
However, Amell has now taken to Twitter to play down the controversy.
"My wife and I got into an argument Monday afternoon on a Delta flight from Austin to LA. I was asked to lower my voice and I did," he wrote.
"Approximately 10 minutes later I was asked to leave the flight. And I did so immediately. I was not forcibly removed."
"I rebooked myself on a Southwest flight 2 hours later and traveled home without any further issue. I let my emotions get the better of me, end of story," he added, before quipping, "Must be a slow news cycle."
The couple had been in Austin attending the ATX Television Festival.
