Police say 63 thefts from motor vehicles and 21 bicycle thefts were reported in two week period

63 thefts in two weeks

There were 63 thefts from motor vehicles in the Kamloops area reported over the last two weeks, according to statistics from the RCMP.

Police said there were 39 thefts from vehicles during the week of June 7 to 13.

There were 11 such thefts reported on the North Shore, while 12 thefts from motor vehicles occurred while cars were parked downtown.

Five thefts from vehicles occurred in the Sahali area.

In the same week, there were eight bicycle thefts reported.

According to police, three bikes were lifted from the North Shore during this time. One was reported stolen from Valleyview, and another bike was taken from a location in Aberdeen.

During the week of June 14 to 20, there were 24 thefts from motor vehicles reported, a decrease of 15 from the week before.

According to the RCMP, eight of thefts from vehicles were reported on the North Shore, and another eight were reported downtown.

Three such thefts occurred in Valleyview.

During this week, there were 13 bicycle thefts reported to police, an increase of five from the week prior.

Five bikes were taken from the North Shore, and two from the Sahali area. One bicycle was stolen from Sagebrush.
