Bahamas brings live music to Kelowna this fall

Live music makes comeback

Live music is making a comeback in Kelowna.

With the country slowly starting to open up again, musicians and artists are beginning to announce their
concert and appearance plans.

Canadian songwriter, musician, and self-described social media influencer Bahamas, Afie Jurvanen, is returning to the Okanagan at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Sunday, Nov. 21. The tour will include 37 stops on the Still Sad Tour, supporting his award-winning fifth full-length album, Sad Hunk.

The five-time JUNO Award winner took home the Adult Alternative Album of the Year award last week for Sad Hunk, making him the first to receive the accolade for three consecutive albums. Sad Hunk is on pace to be Jurvanen's fifth consecutive album to receive more than 100 million streams.

Jurvanen has spent the pandemic working on his popular YouTube series Live To Tape, which has seen him perform remotely with backing bands consisting of Bob Glaub and Russ Kunkel, Jason Isbell's 400 Unit, Dawes, and rhythm sections for Roger Waters, Jackson Browne, Adele, Beck, REM, and more.

Tickets for Bahamas Kelowna show in November go on sale through Select Your Tickets at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 25.
