Wildfire near Lytton

Firefighters are responding to a wildfire near Lytton.

The fire is located approximately seven kilometres south of Lytton, adjacent to Highway 1.

BC Wildfire Service said it is currently investigating the cause of the fire, which is estimated at 10 hectares in size.

25 firefighters are currently onsite and three are expected to stay at the scene overnight.

Helicopters and air tankers were deployed to gain control of the fire earlier Wednesday and have since left.

BC Wildfire Service said no structures are threatened, but smoke may be visible from Highway 1 and surrounding areas.
