Hamilton Hill fire

Firefighters are responding to a fire on the Okanagan Connector near Merritt.

This evening B.C. Wildfire Services were alerted to a fire on Hwy 97C coming into Merritt. The fire has been named the Hamilton Hill fire.

B.C. Wildfire Services said a vehicle caught fire and spread to the grass on the side of the road, and there are 31 firefighters currently on site.

Traffic is down to one lane going eastbound.
