One person is dead following a head-on collision on Wednesday near Chase, police say.

Emergency crews were called to a stretch of Highway 1 three kilometres east of Chase just before 1 p.m. for a two-vehicle crash.

B.C. Highway Patrol Cpl. Mike Halskov said investigators believe a westbound pickup truck was in a passing lane when it crossed into an oncoming lane, colliding head-on with a transport truck.
