After months of watching small screens at home, movie fans can once again enjoy the cinematic experience.

The province eased COVID restrictions to allow theatres to reopen, including the Galaxy 7 theatres at the Shops at Polson in Vernon.

However, openings are limited, with several COVID restrictions in place.

These include: masks must be worn unless eating or drinking, social distancing, minimum number of empty seats between parties, and a limited operating capacity.

Vernon's Galaxy theatres are currently showing six films, ranging from family animated to horror, to action flicks.

The Towne Theatre in downtown Vernon will not be opening until the fall, as its new operators do not take over until August, and some renovations are planned first.
