Golden eagle near Grand Forks found in poor health, likely caused by poison

Eagle probably poisoned

A Golden eagle was found lethargic and in poor condition by conservation officers near Grand Forks on Monday.

In a post in their Facebook page, The BC Conservation Officer Service says “it appears the eagle may have been poisoned.”

The big bird was sent to the SORCO Raptor Rehabilitation Centre in Oliver.

The post drew numerous comments for the banning of rodenticides in the province.
