Match Eatery to reopen next week in Vernon, Penticton, Kamloops, New Westminster

Match ready to reopen

Gateway Casinos confirms its Match Eateries will be reopening next week.

The openings will be phased, with restaurants in Penticton, Kamloops and New Westminster opening on Tuesday, and Vernon's location opening on Thursday.

“We are very excited to reopen four more restaurants and welcome back more of our team. The health and well- being of our employees and guests is always our top priority,” Gateway vice-president of food & beverage Todd Pollock said in a press release, Friday.

“We want to thank everyone for their support and patience during these challenging times as we work diligently to safely return to operations.”

The restaurants, which are attached to Gateway casino locations, will reopen for dine-in, takeout and delivery service. The casinos remain closed, however.

"Maintaining a clean environment is a daily priority, and it is regular practice to clean all hard surfaces, such as door handles and tables. Under the current environment, Match is being hyper-vigilant in our cleaning protocols throughout our properties to prevent the spread of transmittable illnesses, including COVID-19."

Patios are expected to reopen in mid-April, weather permitting.

The restaurants will be open seven days a week with adjusted hours of operation.
