History Channel introduces the world to 'hotshotting' rivals based in the Interior

Hotshotting to History

A couple of familiar faces will be added to Thursday night's lineup on the History Channel.

'Big Donny' Kleinfelder and Dave Schwandt are the latest additions to the channel from British Columbia's Interior.

Starring in 'Backroad Truckers', Kleinfelder, who is based in Barriere, and Schwandt from White Lake, battle for jobs that no one else wants.

"Hotshotting is getting cargo that somebody needs right now, time sensitive, and you're throwing it into your vehicle and getting it to them as fast as possible," Schwandt told Castanet Kamloops.

This show follows the men and their teams as they take on seemingly impossible tasks, on treacherous roads.

The two first appeared on History during Rust Valley Restorers.

"I guess Matt decided we were characters enough to try to do something else," laughed Kleinfelder.

The show not only displays some of the most beautiful scenery Western Canada has to offer, but the dangers as well.

To catch all the action and the series premier, tune into History Channel on March 4 at 10 p.m.
