TRU's men's volleyball team adds Ontario native to roster

Eastern talent joins 'Pack

Thomson Rivers University has added an Ontario right-side hitter to its men’s volleyball roster.

Nathan Jager, who stands six-foot-seven, played two seasons with Brock University in Ontario, and brings a competitive spirit as well as experience to Kamloops.

Having played with 2018 National Club Champion and Ontario Provincial Club Champion teams, Jager looks to be an asset in the skills department.

“We have been looking to add some experience to our program for 2021 and Nathan is a great fit for our program. Nathan has played on one of the premier club team in Canada, Pakmen Volleyball Club (Ontario), and also has post-secondary experience at Brock University in the Ontario University Athletics,” WolfPack coach, Pat Hennelly said in a press release.

“Nathan will be a welcome and competitive addition to our 2021 roster and we are very pleased he chose WolfPack Volleyball to complete his post-secondary career.”

Jager is happy to join a strong volleyball program, and looks to improve on his game and skillset as well. While attending TRU, Jager will continue working towards a bachelor’s degree in political science or economics before pursuing a career as a lawyer or teacher.

“I chose TRU for the opportunity to study at a world-class university in a unique environment while being able to compete as an athlete in the Canada West conference. Coach Hennelly, the team staff and players were extremely welcoming and are supportive of my future goals,” Jager said.

In his single appearance during the 2019-2020 volleyball season, Jager posted 15 kills, 18 points and three aces against the Guelph Gryphons.
