BC man shot and killed in Ontario, investigation underway

BC man killed in shooting

Hamilton homicide investigators are looking for answers as they search for clues into the fatal shooting death of 39-year-old BC man Tyler Platt.

Platt was shot on February 28, just after 7:15 p.m. in the area of 347 Arvin Avenue, Stoney Creek, near Hamilton, Ontario.

Platt had just recently moved from B.C. to the greater Toronto area and was found deceased after a 26-year-old female, also found with gunshot wounds, was transported to the hospital where she remains in serious condition.

The Hamilton Police Service Major Crime Unit believes the victims are known to each other and they believe the suspects involved left in a new model white Land Rover SUV that likely has some body damage to its lower panel area in connection with the homicide.

Investigators continue to try to establish a motive behind the incident and urge those with information to come forward to speak with police.
