Second crash slows traffic

UPDATE: 11:10 a.m.

While the crash that initially closed the Trans-Canada Highway west of Revelstoke Sunday morning has been cleared, a second crash in the area is causing more disruptions.

DriveBC reports a crash is impacting westbound traffic near Three Valley Gap, and emergency crews are en route.

UPDATE: 8:20 a.m.

The Trans-Canada Highway has been reopened to single-lane, alternating traffic Sunday morning, after a crash completely closed the road earlier Sunday.

ORIGINAL: 7:30 a.m.

The Trans-Canada Highway is closed in both directions Sunday following a crash west of Revelstoke.

The crash occurred at about 6 a.m. near Three Valley Gap, about 19 kilometres west of Revelstoke. Webcams in the area show snow covering the highway.

The road is expected to be closed for at least a couple hours, and DriveBC plans to update the closure at 9:30 a.m.

There is no detour.
