Single-vehicle crash near Prince George Friday morning claims a life

One dead following crash

One person is dead following a crash in Northern BC.

Just before 9 a.m. Friday Feb. 26, Prince George RCMP and other emergency services responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident on Highway 16 near Carmel Road in Beaverley.

Cpl. Craig Douglass said a full-size pick-up truck left the highway and rolled, coming to a rest on its roof.

“The adult male occupant could not be revived by paramedics and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” said Douglass in a press release.

The BC Coroners Service attended the scene and is conducting an investigation.

Due to privacy concerns, the name of the deceased will not be released.

The highway was initially closed in both directions, but was opened to alternating traffic for about two hours while emergency crews tended to the crash.
