24-hour driving ban for man who crashed into Pandosy bus stop

Crashed driver was impaired

The Kelowna RCMP says a driver who crashed into a Pandosy Street bus stop on Wednesday evening was likely impaired by drugs.

Emergency crews were called to the crash near the intersection of Sutherland Avenue at about 5:20 p.m.

“Frontline officers attended and observed that a grey Dodge Journey had struck a pole at a bus stop, causing minor damage to the vehicle and the pole,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy in a news release. No pedestrians were hurt in the crash.

Investigators say they “formed the grounds to believe” that the driver was impaired by drugs.

Witnesses told Castanet that the man exited his vehicle after the crash and looked "out of it."

The 35-year-old Enderby man was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
