Rutland Senior Secondary school announces a second positive COVID-19 case

Interior Health confirmed another COVID-19 case at Rutland Senior Secondary school today.

The person is self-isolating at home with support form the local public health teams.

"The safety and well-being of students, families, and staff remains our highest priority. Central Okanagan Public Schools will continue to implement the strict health and safety protocols and procedures that are in place so students and staff can continue to attend school as safely as possible," says Rutland Senior Secondary school in a letter to parents.

The school adds it will continue to work closely with Interior Health if any additional action is required.

On Jan. 6, Rutland Senior Secondary announced a school community member had tested positive for COVID-19, it was the first case of the virus to be detected in a local school after the winter holiday break.
