Police dog tracks down senior who went missing in Prince George

Police dog finds senior

A Prince George police dog is being applauded for helping find an elderly man who had gone missing.

RCMP spokesperson Const. Jennifer Cooper says police received a report of a missing man in the West Lake Area Monday evening.

A caller said she had been out for a walk with her husband, but lost sight of him.

She looked in the area, and neighbours also came to help but couldn't find the man.

Cooper says as darkness started to settle in, there was increasing concern for his well being.

Officers arrived with Police Dog Services and quickly began searching from where the man was last seen.

The dog team successfully found the man in the bush and brought him back to safety.

He was checked by paramedics, who found no injuries or harm.
