A mediator is working to settle a labour dispute in Vernon.
Unionized employees with VantageOne Credit Union have been conducting job action for a month, although they did suspend their strike over the Christmas season.
Glenn Benischek, VantageOne president and CEO, confirmed a mediator has been brought in to assist in resolving the dispute between the credit union and MoveUP union, which represents 34 workers.
“We are in mediation again this week, and we are hopeful we are moving down a positive path to resolution, but we still have mediation to complete,” Benischek said Tuesday.
A representative from the union could not be reached for comment.
At issue in the labour dispute that started Dec. 14 is increased job protection and wages.
Negotiations had been ongoing for a year before breaking down.
