Kamloops drug users warned about dangerous supply

IH issues drug warning

Interior Health has issued a warning to drug users about a dangerous supply circulating on Kamloops streets.

According to the alert, issued Wednesday, there is a high risk of overdose for users taking pink to reddish down, or heroin. Contained in the substance are fentanyl, bento, caffeine and mannitol.

The alert said users overdosing may not respond to naloxone and ay appear to be having an “atypical overdose.”

“Continue to give breath and seek medical attention,” it said.

IH also cautioned users to avoid using alone or using multiple substances at once.
