Environment Canada issues special weather statement for Vancouver

High wind warning for coast

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Metro Vancouver due to powerful winds moving across the B.C. South Coast.

This morning, a strong Pacific Frontal system moving across the B.C. South Coast will give potentially damaging winds, explains the statement.

The winds will abate near noon as the front moves inland.

The special weather statement is in effect for:

  • Metro Vancouver - central including the City of Vancouver Burnaby and New Westminster
  • Metro Vancouver - North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver
  • Metro Vancouver - southeast including Surrey and Langley
  • Metro Vancouver - southwest including Richmond and Delta
