Spread the holiday spirit by shopping local in Penticton

Look local to spread cheer

"Four seasons of fun" is new a collaboration between Castanet and Travel Penticton showcasing what Penticton has to offer all year round. Watch for it every Monday morning.

There’s no better way to spread holiday cheer than by shopping local.

Penticton small businesses are your one stop shop for holiday gifts, both online and (safely) in-store. As B.C. moves into its second COVID-19 wave, it’s important more now than ever to shop and support local.

If you’re looking to send a bit of Penticton to friends or family who missed out on visiting this year, the Penticton Visitor Centre is running its seasonal sale with discounts of up to 50 per cent off on various Penticton-branded items.

The BC VQA Wine Information Centre, located by Cascades Casino, offers up a variety of gift baskets loaded to the brim with local goodies and wine to share with friends and family. If shopping in-store isn’t an option for you, the centre now offers online shopping.

And for the adventurous friend or family member, gift the experience of enjoying Penticton’s outdoors, with a tour, rental or course from Hoodoo Adventures. The company offers snowshoeing adventures through the winter and also boasts an indoor climbing wall.

But if you’d like to gift a loved one - or even yourself - a fun-filled weekend, be sure to check out Chute Lake Lodge.

The Lodge offers warm, cozy family cabins, yurts, and snowshoeing adventures under the stars. With a restaurant on site and plans for a skating rink, guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor experiences before warming up in a private cabin.

And for the food-loving friends, there’s no shortages of gourmet chocolates and other treats. Upper Bench Winery and Poplar Grove Winery both offer a selection of delicious cheeses to pair with wine, but if you have more of a sweet tooth, check out Gratify in Penticton.

As the South Okanagan heads into the holiday season, spread some cheer by supporting local.
