Local woman publishes 2 books while caring for ill husband

'Best & worst year of my life'

Kris Fuller's 2020 has been full of highs and lows, which is putting it pretty mildly.

Her husband, Ben, was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer back in March. He battled the disease for the better part of four months before passing away in July at 43 years old.

During that time, Kris was working on two books that are now published.

"This year has been the worst year of my life, but there are pieces of it that have been the best," she says. "I have intense feelings on both ends of the spectrum – it's a very strange feeling."

Fuller says she has dreamed about being a published author her whole life, which she achieved in the middle of caring for her terminally ill husband, twice.

"My first book is a collaborative project with Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino called 'Best Ever You - 52 Week Journal to Your Bravest, Boldest Self'," she says. "It's a book that is centred around the important principles of life and how you can live your life according to those values."

Fuller's second book was published earlier this month, which is called 'Terramara: Mara's Transformation.' It follows the story of Mara, a water sprite, on her journey to unite her people with humans.

Both books are available for purchase on Amazon. Terramara: Mara's Transformation can be found here, and Best Ever You - 52 Week Journal to Your Bravest, Boldest Self can be found here.
