Enforce mask requirements

Today I had to go and get a blood test at “Valley Medical Lab” in Peachland and while I was masked up outside I noticed that a couple of people in line were not wearing masks and confronted them and told them to put on masks in order to protect me and the technician inside.

Their response was that  in BC masks are not mandatory and that they had opted not to. My response was that this was selfish and in my mind totally irresponsible on their part. Their reply was for me to go f**k myself. Disgusting!

Upon reaching the entry door there was a sign requesting the use of masks in order to enter and I pointed this out to them. The reply was that nobody can force them to comply!

When my time came to enter there were two people leaving without masks so I asked the gal at reception why this was happening. Her reply was that she was powerless to force mask attire due to BC’s regulations.

What the hell is going on here?

In the “gonna get stabbed room!"a gal came to take my blood samples and she was fully masked, so I asked her why there was people without masks and she repeated what I had learned at reception, also adding that even the local hospitals can not actually enforce this safety device!

This is totally disgusting and puts our health care workers who are trying their best to help us while at an extreme personal risk that could be quickly resolved and eliminated if our provincial NDP Premier Mr. Horgan would have the smarts and intestinal fortitude to make it mandatory law for all.

My local IGA has insisted on wearing masks as well as Superstore and Home Depot Hats off to them!

Why are idiots so content in playing “Russian roulette” and openly appear not to give a damn for others?
